COVID Live Updates: Breast milk could help fight coronavirus, researchers say

NEW YORK (WABC) – Research is still in its infancy, but it is indicated that breast milk may contain antibodies that can help fight severe cases of COVID-19.

The study is being conducted at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

Dr. Laura Ward says there is already evidence that breast milk contains antibodies that help protect against lower respiratory problems.

The new research is part of the reason why new mothers who have contracted COVID-19 are encouraged to continue breastfeeding.

However, bacteria and viruses can also be transferred through breast milk, which is why some doctors do not recommend them.

Sneaking under a record number of COVID-19 patients, hundreds of national intensive care units run out of space and supplies and compete to hire temporary nurses who travel at increasing rates. Many of the facilities are grouped in the south and west.

The French government could impose a third blockade in the coming days, if a 12-hour extinction available does not significantly slow down virus infections.

Exactly one year after France announced the first confirmed case of coronavirus in Europe, Health Minister Olivier Veran said in an interview published Sunday in the newspaper Le Parisien that if infections do not decrease and “if the variants begin to spread over all, we will take additional measures. And this is called prison … We will close. “

An official in the office of French President Emmanuel Macron said on Sunday that “everything is on the table”, but no firm decisions will be made until the effect of the national curve is clear between 18:00 and 06:00 next week.

Ensuring the correctness of vaccines
New York will send several vaccination preparation kits to housing complexes for seniors and churches in an effort to ensure the correct distribution of vaccines, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Saturday.

Kits include syringes, vials, chamber separators, privacy curtains, cleaning supplies, personal protective equipment and other items. They also include instructions on how to set up a vaccination site.

New York deployed the first kits last week to five New York City Housing Authority senior citizens’ complexes and eight churches and cultural centers where nearly 4,200 people eligible to receive the vaccine were vaccinated, Cuomo said.
