COVID-19 vaccines coming to Walmart, Publix and Winn-Dixie stores in South Florida

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The federal retail pharmacy program will expand Florida’s vaccination options, with photos directed at Walmart, Sam’s Club and Winn-Dixie stores, plus other Publix locations.

The federal program sends 1 million photos nationwide, including about 40,000 to Florida food pharmacies. That adds to the 325,000 photos already allocated to Florida by the federal government.

Appointments are required at each location and can be made on pharmacy websites. Patients must meet state eligibility requirements and be 65 years of age or older or employed in the field of health care.

Miami-Dade and Monroe are among the counties on the state’s list for distribution at Winn-Dixies. Broward is not.
