Vaccination progress:

  • Nearly 2.36 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine were delivered to the region and almost 2.19 million were registered as administered. This number includes both county residents and those working in San Diego County.
  • Of those vaccinated so far, more than 768,000 county residents, or 28.6% of San Diegans aged 16 and over, are completely immunized.
  • In total, more than 1.23 million people in the county received at least one shot of the two-dose vaccine. This represents 45.9% of those eligible.
  • The goal is complete vaccination 75% of San Diego County residents aged 16 and over or 2,017,011 people.
  • Those who received the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine, which is currently pending in the county, due to the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Food and Drug Administration, is added to the total of fully vaccinated San Diego.

State values:

  • The state-adjusted case rate in San Diego County is currently 6.0 cases per 100,000 residents (as of April 13).
  • The county remains in the Orange or Tier 3 level under the new guidance of the state. Cases, hospitalizations and admissions to the ICU:

  • 281 COVID-19 cases were reported to the county on April 14. The total for the region is now 274,249.
  • 15,047 or 5.5% of all cases required hospitalization.
  • 1,667 or 0.6% of all cases and 11.1% of hospitalized cases had to be admitted to an intensive care unit.

Deaths:

  • Five additional deaths from COVID-19 were reported on April 14. The total of the region is 3,653.
  • All of these deaths occurred a few months ago, but were just added to the list after a rigorous review of death certificates that were incorrect or incomplete and required analysis of patients’ medical records to determine if they were COVID-19 deaths. .
  • Three women and two men died between December 19, 2020 and February 16, 2021.
