“Your immune system that causes inflammation is improved when you get a vaccine, that’s how it should work,” said Dr. Shirley Chi, who noted that the side effects were easy to treat. “So it makes sense that you would see an immune response in certain areas where I see a substance that is not a natural substance in your body.”
She noted that side effects should not prevent people from receiving the vaccine.
“In these cases, all patients had swelling and inflammation in the area where the filling was given … Some of the patients filled their cheeks six months before the vaccine and one patient had a lip filling two days after the vaccine. All were treated with steroids and antihistamines and all their reactions were resolved. “
