COVID-19 hospitalizations are declining as the new year begins

DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) – The Iowa Department of Public Health reported a total of 575 COVID-19 hospitalizations in the state on Friday. The number has dropped by 25 since that date.

As of 10:30 a.m. Friday, the use of the ICU and fan is also low. The state reported 117 patients in intensive care (down from 134 reported this time on Thursday) and 63 patients with ventilators (compared to 69 on Thursday).
