But, here’s a little perspective.
Between Sunday and Tuesday this week, about three million people were examined by the TSA nationwide. It’s a lot of people, but last year that number was almost seven million on the same date. It is a dramatic reduction, as most people choose to either stay on holiday or travel by car.
The state’s top doctor, Ngozi Ezike, warns people not to travel and spend the holidays only with those in their household, but at the same time acknowledges that many people will not listen.
“I know some of you don’t want to or can’t. And for those of you please think of extra safety precautions you can take as you travel, as you gather, which can make visits somewhat safer. said Ezike.

If you plan to travel, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends:
1. Consider testing one to three days before departure.
2. Get your flu shot before doing this
3. Check your travel restrictions before you leave.
4. Bring extra supplies, such as masks and hand sanitizer.
5. You know when to delay your trip. Do not travel if you or your travel companions are ill.
6. Keep your distance from others as much as possible and keep your nose and mouth covered at all times while in public spaces inside crowded transportation options.
