COVID-19 cases in growing health care workers

MADISON, Wisconsin (WMTV) – The number of COVID-19 cases among Wisconsin health workers has risen in the past two weeks, the state’s top health agency notes.

The Department of Health reported on Monday that there were 42 health workers who had symptoms of COVID-19 or tested positive for the virus in the week of March 28.

In the previous weeks of March 21 and 14, 33 and 25 workers were reported, respectively, with this criterion.

DHS confirmed 402 new cases of COVID-19 in general on Monday, although cases are usually reported lower on the first working day of the week.

The seven-day average continued to rise this week, now reaching 789 cases. This is the highest seven-day average since it was reported in 806 cases on February 13th.

There have been 585,710 COVID-19 cases reported in Wisconsin since the beginning of the pandemic.

Thirty-four state residents were hospitalized Monday for COVID-19, bringing the total number of hospitalizations to 288. This means that there are 47 patients hospitalized this week than last week, as well as 76 more cases than last month. .

There are also 72 patients in intensive care.

Three people died on Monday from COVID-19, bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 6,680.

Nearly 400,000 COVID-19 vaccines were given last week

394,345 COVID-19 vaccines were administered last week, marking the largest week to date for vaccinations in Bursuc state.

As of this week, DHS reports that 9,195 doses have been administered.

There are almost 25% of people in the state who have completed their series of vaccines, while just over 37% have received at least one dose.

Almost 10% more women received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine compared to men in the state, at 41.4% and 32.8%. For those who have completed their vaccine series, women are listed at 28.4%, while men are at 20.2%. Women have been consistently ahead of men in vaccinations in recent months in Wisconsin.

Nearly half of Dane County residents received at least one stroke and nearly 32% completed their vaccine series. The only other counties in South Central Wisconsin that exceeded 40% for the first doses are Green and Iowa counties.

Dodge County also reached three out of ten residents who received at least one COVID-19-month stroke, meaning that all counties in the South Central region are now at least 30% up for the first doses.
