Coronavirus in Puerto Rico: positive cases exceed 100,000

Report of the Department of Health from this Thursday reported two deaths due to COVID-19, while they were recorded 236 confirmed cases, 238 probable and 281 additional suspects, for a total of 755 new positive cases, in samples taken between March 23 and April 6, 2021.

There are 345 people hospitalized, 20 more than in Wednesday’s report and 87 more than in Sunday’s report.

Among those hospitalized are 313 adult patients, 16 more than the previous day and 32 pediatric cases, four more than in Wednesday’s report.

In the intensive care unit, there are 63 adult patients, the same number as the previous day, and one pediatric case. While there are 38 adult patients on the ventilator, two more than in Wednesday’s report.

A total of 2,141 deaths were reported due to Covid-19, two more than in Wednesday’s report.

The reporting of deaths may vary as the processes of recording and coding the causes of death are carried out, which could take several days.
