“Hotel Coppelia has marked my life and I am deeply grateful for this opportunity. I shot this film in 2018, after filming the documentary Isla de Plástico made by José María and me; I remember that in a conversation with him he told me the story and it fascinated me. I had the illusion of being able to be part of it throughout history, because of what it means for women, because of the artistic tricks of being able to bring a subliminal message to the public “.
She did not get the role of prostitute in her first audition. He had to take a second to reach it. But he put a lot of effort into getting it, because he felt that the character had great strength and he felt that he could wear it with the quality required by the director.
“He became one of my most involved characters, I poured all my intensity. I tried to approach Gloria’s character with the honesty and respect she deserves, trying to do justice to her history and nature, “he added.
It was Gloria’s vulnerability that caught her attention when she first read the script, because at Hotel Coppelia she is the person who witnesses everything that happens there.
“I feel that somehow Gloria was always looking for love, she was looking for approval. The Coppelia Hotel represents the country, a place where numerous military commands met during the revolution of April 1965 ”.
