In February, Blizzard announced Diablo II: Risen for multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch. Since then, there has been very little information about the remastering of this iconic classic.
Now, however, in a new update – the company has confirmed that its first technical Alpha for the game (for PC gamers) will start on Friday and will run until April 12. It will give players access to Acts I and II and allow them to select the Amazon, Barbarian and Sorceress class.
An FAQ on the same page confirms that console players will be included in future game tests:
Q: Why is Alpha PC only technical? Console players will be able to test Diablo II: Resurrected?
A: Diablo II: Resurrected will be released on Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. We will include console players in our next game testing phase.
To make up for this, Alpha’s live technical streams will be on Twitch.tv and games on YouTube this weekend.
Frequently asked questions also mention how Alpha technically is a single player, note how the final version of the game “will allow offline play” in single player mode, will include “old cinemas in the game” as substitutes, won It does not allow the transfer of progress and does not allow the import of save files.
While Blizzard says that “there is no release date” right now, it promises to arrive in 2021. Are you looking forward to returning to the Sanctuary world? Leave a comment below.
