Consent to United States of Attorney Attempting to Smuggle Drug Smugglers into JEP – Conflicts and Drug Trafficking – Justice


At noon this Friday, Attorney General Wilson Ruiz Orejuela confirmed that the extradition to the United States of lawyer María Claudia Fernanda Lorza Ramírez had been approved.

According to the investigation, (Lorza) offered to include alleged drug traffickers detained in Colombia in the lists of former Farc members to evade their extraditionRuiz assured.

According to the minister, the lawyer has provided fraudulent documentation “to appear in the records of the demobilized Farc for at least six drug traffickers“.

The Supreme Court upheld the extradition of the attorney on December 1, 2020, which has been requested by a Texas court in the United States on four charges.

The file says the lawyer has been meeting with other people since 2016 to prevent extradition requests from being sent to that country and names defendants such as Juan Carlos Melo Guerrero, aka Aurelio; Ramiro Figueroa Legarda, aka Rocco; Gerardo Enrique Obando Montaño aka Cheko, and Tomas Martínez Minota, aka Pataso.

He offered to include alleged drug traffickers detained in Colombia on the lists of former Farc members in order to circumvent their extradition.

According to some witness statements, the attorney asked the potential beneficiaries for amounts of up to $ 500,000 for their listing. Many gave millionaire amounts and the woman did not.
