Conmebol’s qualifications are postponed after they have not reached an agreement with FIFA

Conmebol qualifications on their way to the 2022 Qatar World Cup, were officially suspended after failing to reach an agreement on Saturday with the FIFA president, Gianni Infantino.

In a statement on its social networks, the South American confederation revealed that this decision is due to the fact that they will not be able to count on the players who play in the European leagues, especially from First league Yes Bundesliga.

The CONMEBOL Council has decided to suspend the double Qualifying Date for Qatar 2022 scheduled for March. The decision is due to the impossibility of having all South American players in time.

The statement also states that FIFA will consider reprogramming the data that was scheduled for the end of March. It should be remembered that several technicians and leaders of the aforementioned leagues refused to lend their players because they had to do a ten-day quarantine once they returned from international commitments.
