By Decree 724-20, the President of the Republic Luis Abinader ordered the establishment of Pro-Pedernales, a public trust in order to execute the necessary infrastructure for the tourist development of the respective province.
The provision indicates that the aforementioned southern city offers opportunities for the social and economic improvement of the inhabitants of the southwestern region of the country, representing a space for the promotion of private investment and the creation of decent jobs.
“This trust will promote the tourist development of Pedernales facilitating the promotion of solutions by the state, as part of a set of public policies focused on the sustainable development of the border area ”, reads part of the government statement.
The decree also gives priority to trust schemes and public-private partnerships as investment mechanisms, identifying themselves as a national need and a way to improve economic conditions in the area and the country.
According to the document, the Dominican state, as part of this Pro-Pedernales trust, will act through the General Directorate of Public-Private Partnerships as administrator and administrator, respectively.
Likewise, Fiduciaria Reservas, SA, will act as agent, which will allocate the patrimony funds for the project operation.
Pro-Pedernales will be valid for 20 years, except for extension by mutual decision.
An administrative committee will coordinate the work for the execution of the project, which will be composed of the President of the Minister of the Presidency, Lisandro Macarrulla; finance ministers, Jochi Vicente; Tourism, David Collado; Medium, Orlando Jorge Mera; Public works, Deligne Ascención and the one of economy, planning and development, Miguel Ceara Hatton.
