Akira Yamaoka has a long history in gaming. Best known as a composer for silent Hill , recently worked on the Xbox Series X game S / PC Environment, but does not rest soon. Not even a week after its launch, Yamaoka is already teasing its next big project.
Sitting down with Al Hub for an interview, when asked if he was working on other projects right now, Yamaoka replied, “You’ll probably hear something this summer that’s coming up.” Speaking through a translator, he then added, “And you think he’s the one you’re hoping to hear about.”
Since then, Al Hub has taken down the story and set his YouTube video privately, raising questions about whether Yamaoka let slip something he shouldn’t have.
As for what game it could be, a new entry into Silent Hill would be obvious candidate. Since then Silent hills’ cancellation in 2015, there was a strong demand for a new game. Yamaoka’s interest in returning is well known and since he worked Dead By Daylight’s Silent Hill update last year, fans are understandably excited.
Yamaoka has also worked on titles such as Cons: Hard Corps, Gradius III, Rumble Roses and Snatcher. It is worth noting, however, that he left Konami in 2009 and worked mainly with Grasshopper Manufacture since then. When his recent projects also include Ninjala and World of Tanks, we do not want to start reaching conclusions. Either way, it looks like we have something to look forward to this summer.
