Colombians abroad: Colombian María Gómez Mullet is found dead in the United States – Other cities – Colombia


A tragic news reported in recent hours by the Boynton Beach Police (Florida, United States): they found Colombian María Estella Gómez Mullet dead, who was reported missing 15 days ago.

The woman was a 45-year-old bacteriologist from Corozal (Sucre). She had two children and a few years ago she moved to the United States, where she worked as a caretaker for an older adult.

The latter is the mother of Roberto Colón, whom Gómez Mullet married to formalize his immigration status in that country, according to versions of his relatives.

“Today we can confirm the discovery of human remains (…) We are conducting a forensic investigation to establish the identity of the person,” preliminary information from police read on Friday, March 5 at 7:39 pm.

Hours later, at 2:07 AM this Saturday morning, authorities reported it they had arrested Roberto Colón and charged with first degree murder of the first degree for the death of the Colombian woman, whose body was buried in the courtyard of the man’s house.

Columbus denied knowing his location

In an interview with a local media outlets a few days ago, Colón had claimed not to be aware of María Estella’s whereabouts and even claimed that she could not harm her partner.

Boynton Beach police regretted what had happened to the sucreña and sent condolences to her family and loved ones, who had not yet commented on the tragedy.
