Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and War zone season 3 seems to be the biggest so far for both games. On Monday, Treyarch and Raven Software released a massive preview of the changes that will come this season, including six new weapons, the return of Price as operator, the mysterious Verdansk event and new maps.
One of the first important moments of season 3 will be his new weapons. In the launch week, Black Ops Cold War and War zone will receive the PPSH-41 machine gun, a rapid-fire weapon, perfect for loading into battle; the Swiss sniper rifle K31, a screw rifle with great damage and impressive speed; and the return of the ballistic knife, a spring knife and the favorite from the Call of Duty series. Both games will also receive a few other weapons this season, including the CARV.2 tactical rifle, AMP 63 SMG and even an old-fashioned baseball bat.

On War zone part 3, season 3 will also start with some kind of massive event to deal with the zombie problem of Verdansk. The posting itself is quite vague as to the specifics of the event, but it reminds players to be online at 15:00 EDT on April 21 to see what happens. If this event is really the nuclear launch that has been teased – and leaked – then it could result in massive changes by Verdansk for the new season.
For Black Ops Cold War, season 3 will have a lot of new multiplayer maps that players can check out. In the launch week, the new season will include Yamantau, a 6v6 map set at a snowy Soviet observatory, and Diesel, a small town set in America for 6v6 and Gunfight games. Later in the season, fans will have access to Standoff, a classic Black Ops 2 Map and Duga, a map with several teams located in the Ural Mountains. Black Ops Cold War will also receive Price as the new Operator, for fans who lack one of Call of Duty’s most famous characters.
Of course, season 3 will also include new Zombies content specifically for Outbreak mode. The launch of the season will add a new region to the mode called Duga, the same map that will make its way to multiplayer later in the season.
Treyarch also revealed the file size required for the patch for both Black Ops Cold War and War zone-only players. Season 3 update will be between 8 and 13 GB for Black Ops Cold War and around 25 GB for War zone players. Season 3 updates will air on April 22nd.
