CNN Staff Member Says Project Veritas Network Raised COVID-19 Death Toll For Reviews

The CNN executive who secretly admitted the network was using “ propaganda ” to help Joe Biden elect as president, also said they were holding the COVID-19 death toll for ratings – and that the order came straight from the top.

Charlie Chester, a technical director at the cable network, was filmed by Project Veritas on a series of fake Tinder dates explaining how “Fear really drives the numbers.”

“COVID? Audience gangbusters,” Chester told the unidentified PV employee.

“That’s why we constantly have the death toll aside,” he continued, referring to the coronavirus death tracker that would appear on the screen. ‘It would make our point better if [the COVID death toll] was higher. “

The Project Veritas employee, who was not identified and claimed to be a nurse, went on five dates with the CNN staff member, including the latest at a coffee shop near Chester. It is unclear when the dates took place.

During one of the meetings, Chester explained to the PV employee why the network was so heavy on COVID coverage, saying, “Fear is the thing that really keeps you informed.”

Chester went on to mention the death toll and then said he ‘had a big problem with how we keep track of how many people die every day because I’ve even looked at it and I’m like, look at it and say,’ Let’s do it make higher. Like, why isn’t high enough, you know, today? “

And I’m like, what am I f-king rallying for? That’s a problem we do, ”he admitted.

Chester claimed there was a ‘red phone’ that network chairman Jeff Zucker would use to call the control room to order producers to play the number of Covid deaths on screen.

“Like, this special red phone rings and they pick it up and it’s, like, the head of the network says, ‘There’s nothing you’re doing right now that makes me want to hang. the most tempting thing is we have. ”So things like that are constantly being discussed,” said the executive.

He also told his date that there is “no such thing as unbiased news,” and explained how that manifests itself at CNN.

Every reporter on CNN, what they actually do is tell the person what to say. It always leads them in one direction before they even open their mouth, ”he said.

“And the only people we let in the air are, for the most part, people with a proven track record in baiting.”

A CNN spokesperson did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment on the second part of the Project Veritas report.

In part one of the PV series, Chester revealed that his network was producing “ propaganda ” to oust former President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election.

‘Look what we’ve done, we [CNN] Trump has taken out. I’m going to say it 100 percent, and I believe 100 percent that if it weren’t for CNN, I don’t know Trump would have been voted out, “Chester said, adding that he joined CNN because he” wanted to be a part of that. “.

Our focus was to get Trump out of office, right? Without saying it, that was it. “
