CNE starts the special verification of records due to inconsistencies

Co-director of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Eduardo Fuentes, reported on Friday that so far they have received more than 150 challenges from candidates from the various movements of political parties that have suffered internal elections.

The Libertad and Refundación Party (free of charge) and the Liberal Party were the ones that presented the most inconsistencies in completing the minutes of each polling station.

CNE reported that 17 percent of the minutes have some inconsistencies and that, before April 13, they will resolve to provide a final statement.

“The electoral process continues to advance, we continue to work, we continue to receive challenges. So far, more than 150 challenges have been received from the candidates of the three political parties, of the 14 legally registered movements,” he said.

“All these challenges are accepted because the movements consider that there is a complaint and are resolved within the deadline set by law, which is 10 days,” he said.

“He mentioned that these minutes will receive special control from this day, the process will be made public, where the media, members of civil society will be observers of this process, to ensure respect for the will of the people at the polls,” he said. he said.

The final declaration of the internal elections will take place on April 15, with the verification of the contested minutes.
