Cleveland sends Jose Ramirez and Franmil Reyes home for violating Covid-19 protocol

Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona said José Ramírez and Franmil Reyes violated COVID-19 and will be out of the team.

Both players were sent home immediately, and Cleveland is waiting for a message from MLB when they will be allowed to return.

Reyes cut his hair and then the two players ate together in a restaurant. Both MLB health and safety protocol violations determined prior to spring training.

Reyes also violated COVID-19 protocols before the short season last year, when he attended an event on July 4 and was seen on social media without wearing a mask.

Ramirez finished second in the MVP vote last year after hitting .292 with 17 homers and 46 RBIs in 58 games.

Reyes hit .275 with nine home runs and 34 RBIs in 59 games.
