Cleveland Browns WR baby son Ryan Switzer has returned to the hospital

CLEVELAND – Cleveland Browns wide receiver Ryan Switzer said his young son underwent a blood transfusion on Sunday and has several tests in front of him to try to determine why he bled.

Nine-month-old Christian is returning to the hospital for the second time after surgery last week. Sunday night, Switzer posted an update saying that Christian’s hemoglobin “responded well” to the transfusion.

“Unfortunately, none of the tests performed today gave us a diagnosis of his bleeding,” Switzer said on Twitter. “He has a procedure set for tomorrow at 7 in the morning to explore from the inside. This is so important to our little man. Pray for supernatural power for him.”

The 26-year-old father posted a video on March 10 thanking the audience for the overwhelming outpouring of support for Christian.

On Saturday, Switzer said Christian had several “significant bleeds” and returned to the hospital.

“We are frustrated, but more than exhausted, to see our son suffer,” Switzer wrote. “We ask for prayers for doctors as they work to find a diagnosis and strength for Christian as he struggles.”

Switzer spent last season on the Cleveland training team. He was with the Pittsburgh Steelers for two seasons after being selected by Dallas in the 2017 North Carolina NFL Draft.
