Clare Crawley is “crushed” after breaking up with “Bachelorette” contestant Dale Moss.
In a message posted on Instagram on Thursday, Crawley, 39, said she was “aware of a ‘mutual’ statement at the same time that you were all there,” but “it took some time.” to really digest this. ”
“Speaking for me, my intentions with this relationship have always been very clear, so the truth is that I am crushed,” she said.
On Tuesday, Moss – whose whirlwind affair with Crawley led to an engagement in season 16 of “The Bachelorette” last year – confirmed that the two broke up.
“I wanted to share everything with you, Clare, and we decided to go our separate ways,” Moss, a 32-year-old former NFL player at the time, posted on Instagram.
“We appreciate the love and support we have received from so many people, but this is the healthiest decision for both of us right now,” he continued.
Crawley said Thursday that “this is not what I expected or hoped for and I am still trying to process this.
“2020 was a hell of a year, with a covetous anguish, struggling after the show, balancing a new public relationship, while I slowly lost my mother,” Crawley continued. “There were no ideal circumstances, but this is the right life. I look forward to the light at the end of the tunnel. ”
Crawley, who was previously engaged to Benoit Beausejour-Savard, a student at the Bachelor’s Winter Games, added that her relationship with Moss “was not perfect,” but that “she was really invested with all my heart.”
“I may not have all the answers, but I know that – I will continue to show up, keep my word and commit to love,” Crawley concluded.
