Chyno Miranda gave details about the disease she has been battling since the beginning of the year, which affected her mobility and even made her doubt the future of her career and what would become of her life.

The health condition of the well-known Venezuelan singer, who formed a famous urban music duo with his compatriot Nacho, began to worry his fans in November last year.

In a statement, his relatives revealed that what began as “short but intense discomfort in his hands and feet” led to very severe pain, to the point where the singer “could no longer walk.”

Since then, little has been known about the health of Chyno, who is in rehab and has already been released from hospital. This week, the singer broke the silence and told People en Español details about his illness.

There, the Venezuelan revealed that he was infected with covid-19 in March, when the pandemic had just arrived on the American continent. Seven months after defeating the coronavirus, which caused her “extreme muscle pain and lack of oxygen”, the singer’s health deteriorated.

“I began to feel numbness and severe pain in my legs,” Chyno told the magazine. This happened while he was with his wife, Natasha Araos, and was driving to their car. At that moment he stopped feeling his lower extremities and had to get up.

“The discomfort intensified to the point where one night while sleeping, the pain was unbearable,” the press revealed.

That day, Chyno felt a strong cramp in his legs, so intense that he fell out of bed. This was the warning sign that led his family to take him to the hospital.

“When we decided to put him in the hospital, he could not move,” Araos said in an interview.

Although the singer suffered from covid-19 and recovered from the disease in March, seven months later the consequences on his body worsened.

Peripheral neuropathy

In the health center, after several analyzes, they revealed what happened. “Covid-19 triggered a compromise in the nervous system that (transformed) into peripheral neuropathy,” said Miranda.

This condition occurs when nerves outside the brain and spinal cord, known as peripheral nerves, suffer damage, resulting in injury, infection, toxins, metabolic problems or diseases such as diabetes.

As a result of this injury, symptoms such as weakness, pain and numbness appear in the extremities of the body.

In the case of Jesús Alberto Miranda, Chyno’s first name, the damage affected his legs.

“Imagine, in a bed, without going, the first thing I thought was, ‘My artistic career is over,'” the singer recalled.

His wife’s support was essential to get out of the situation. Although in the first days, as a result of the pandemic, she was denied access to the hospital, then she was able to see her husband every three days and was even able to take Luca’s little two-year-old couple, the couple’s son.

“The recovery started with hospitalized therapies for a whole month. (Today) I have a prognosis that in March it can be better. I tell myself that the evolution has been very big. Jesus gave himself,” said Natasha Araos .

The singer faithfully follows his therapy, which he now interprets at home with the coordination of a physiotherapist. “He’s doing much better today. He’s almost 90 percent. The pain is going down,” Chyno’s wife said.

With great optimism, the Venezuelan hopes that his recovery will continue to move forward, in order to fulfill his dream of returning to the stage in 2021 and of making the long-awaited reunion tour with his partner Nacho.
