Democrats may have just gotten a boost by getting their agenda through Congress.

The Senate MP told Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer that the chamber could use additional time to pass a bill by simple majority, a New York Democrat spokesman said Monday. The ruling would give Democrats, who control a 50-50 senate group per party, three tries to pass legislation without Republican votes before the 2022 midterm elections.

Democrats have not yet decided whether to use the third attempt at reconciliation. “No decisions have been taken on a legislative path forward” and “some parameters have yet to be worked out,” but the opinion “is an important step forward,” said Schumer’s spokesman.
