Christmas Bandit caught stealing from small business – NBC 7 San Diego

Serpentine Cider owner Sean Harris is asking the community for help identifying a Christmas bandit.

“You feel violated, any kind of emotion,” Harris said after sharing the security video of a man stealing outdoor space heaters and a canopy from the Serpentine Cider courtyard in Miramar on Christmas night.

“In the end, 2020 broke me. We’ve been through everything that’s happened now, in the last week, “said Harris, who thought he was going through the worst of 2020, after the pandemic forced two stops and asked him to go to work alone.

“It’s terrifying at times,” said Harris’ girlfriend Bree Steffen. Harris agreed: “It’s terrifying. It’s hard to see that your bank account is collapsing. “

And now they’ve taken another hit.

“All the heaters were stolen, the canopy disappeared, some of the tables and chairs were broken and the lights were broken,” Harris explained.

Harris said the thief was seen unloading an extension cord and an electric tool, which he used to break the locks that secured the objects to the patio. Harris estimates losses of several thousand dollars, but said the heaviest loss is the damaged furniture he built with his father, who lives in the north.

“It’s just heartbreaking to see that my father and my hard work have literally broken. You will have to rebuild it will be difficult. My father is 70 years old. He can’t go out during COVID and help me, so I’ll do it myself. It just won’t have the same effect as building with my dad. And more money than we already have, “said Harris. “I really hope that someone recognizes him before he does (break) someone else. If he managed to do this to us for Christmas, he could do it to someone else. ”

If you recognize the man in the video, you’re asked to call the police.
