The man caught on CCTV movies was accompanying Filipino flight attendant Christine Dacera in a hotel lobby before she was found dead in a bathtub, according to a report that Dacera “initiated the kiss with me”.
Valentine Rosales, one of the 11 men suspected of allegedly raping and killing the 23-year-old on New Year’s Eve, also said he was usually flirty when he drank, Philippine GMA reported.
“[S]he was the one who initiated the kiss with me “, Rosales told GMA.
“I was trying to open the door. I rang the bell. She was the one who grabbed me.
“I rang the bell, but I avoided it, I bypassed it.”
CCTV footage released Wednesday shows Dacera kissing a man in the lobby of the luxury hotel – where she was later found unanswered in the bathtub of her room.
GMA reported that a longer version of the images shared on Rosales’ Facebook account shows him moving away from Dacera shortly after he made a move.
Authorities identified 11 men celebrating the new year with the flight attendant and took three into custody – only for prosecutors to release them later for lack of evidence.
GMA also reported that Dacera’s body was later embalmed without the consent of his family – and before the autopsy could be performed.
Rommel Galido, another friend who was spending time with Dacera – and one of the three men briefly detained by police – told the news service that the flight attendant was sometimes “very naughty” when she got drunk.
But Galido told the Filipino star that Dacera told him at one point that he thought “someone put something in my drink.”
He said Dacera was later seen spilling.
Another detained man, Dela Serna, told GMA that he took Dacera back to her hotel room around 4 a.m. on Jan. 1 – and that an extended version of the video in the lobby showed her standing and calling ring.
Police in Makati City say the investigation into his death is continuing.
