Chris Cuomo discusses brother Andrew’s sexual harassment scandal

CNN anchor Chris Cuomo spoke on Monday about the growing sexual harassment scandal engulfing his brother, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, telling viewers he “ clearly ” wouldn’t talk about it.

“I’m clearly aware of what’s going on with my brother,” said the anchor at the top of his primetime show. “And of course I can’t cover it because he’s my brother.”

“Now CNN has to cover it, of course,” the host continued. “They’ve covered it extensively and will continue to do so.”

“I’ve always been very concerned about these issues, and I am,” added Cuomo, 50,. “There’s a lot of news that matters too, so let’s see after that.”

The awkward admission came when a third woman came forward to accuse the governor, 63, of inappropriate sexual behavior.

In response to Chris Cuomo’s statement, several said on Twitter that it was only natural for the journalist to stop reporting on a family member.

However, others noted that no such conflict of interest seemed to exist when Andrew Cuomo was doing well.

The governor was a regular on his younger brother’s show at the height of the coronavirus pandemic. The two joked during the segments, including about Andrew’s relationship status.

CNN recently banned Chris from covering his sibling again after an exclusive Post report found that his records covered thousands of COVID-19 deaths in the nursing home.
