Choir to the police during the holidays for Granma’s victory in the ball

A video clip at Cuban holidays in Bayamo for Granma’s victory In the 60th National Baseball Series, the refrain “hey, police, pi ***” runs like wildfire on social media.

In the rhythm and conga rhythm, a lot of people took to the streets celebrates the triumph of Los Alazanes, with a sticky chorus that was viralized by the unusualness of these expressions in a massive way on the Cuban streets.

“My people were set on fire, how many people on the street,” said one of the people who filmed the event.

Although it was not a proper demonstration against the police, many Cubans saw it as a demonstration of courage and a hope that people could unite and take to the streets to peacefully demand that their rights be respected.

The chorus took on special significance amid a weekend of repression in Cuba, mainly in Santiago de Cuba, where members of the Cuban Patriotic Union are on hunger strike and in a delicate state, and in Havana, where San Isidro’s neighbors prevented the police from arresting Maykel “Osorbo” Castillo and then sang the Patria y Vida song in the middle of the street.

The celebration of Granma’s sporting victory was marked by a lack of control at a time when the government is imposing increasingly drastic and restrictive measures in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. A crowd of people took to the streets, chanting and applauding – some without masks – and gathered to watch the bus pass with the winning team.

Granma is the province with the most COVID-19 cases reported after Havana in the last parts.
