China Taiwan donates seven water purification plants to Sula Valley

The Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), through the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in Latin America and North America, delivered a donation of seven water treatment pumps to bring water suitable for human consumption in the areas of the Sula Valley where storms Eta and Iota have devastated vital fluid systems.

The approximate cost of the donation is $ 75,000.00.

During the delivery ceremony, the first lady was present Ana Garcia de Hernandez, who thanked the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for claiming in recent months that natural phenomena have hit the country.

“This strengthens the country’s responsiveness to help the families who need it most,” said García de Hernández.

For his part, the Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Honduras, Diego Wen, detailed that large water purification pumps can generate water for communities of 400 to 500 people and small ones for communities of 40 to 50 people.

“We are convinced that through these deliveries we will benefit a large population that has been affected by the storms of Eta and Iota,” the diplomat stressed.

Wen explained that the technology and parts used are all developed in the Republic of China (Taiwan), including a special filter developed by ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute) that allows water filtration, eliminating viruses and particles.

This filter is long-lasting and washable, the approximate duration is 5 to 10 years depending on the care, the filtered water can be used for general consumption or for human consumption, he added.

The shipment was handled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the embassy of that country in Honduras to make the official delivery to the Standing Quota Commission (Copeco) of the Cutting Department.
