Chicago Bears sign OLB Jeremiah Attaochu on a 2-year contract

The Chicago Bears bolstered their passing by adding quarterback Jeremiah Attaochu, who signed a two-year deal with the Bears on Sunday.

A former voter in the second round in 2014, Attaochu spent the last two seasons with the Denver Broncos. In his career, he recorded 20.5 bags and 144 approaches in 74 games with 23 starts.

In 2020, Attaochu appeared in 13 games with the Broncos, including five starts and totaling 5.0 sacks, nine defender shots and 31 tackles, which was the second most of his career outside of his 2015 season ( 6.0 bags and 55 approaches) with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Attaochu joins a pass that consists of Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn, the two highest paid players on the team. It looks like he will play a similar role as Barkevious Mingo last season, where he shared representatives with Quinn and saw significant action.

Attaochu becomes the fourth free agent Chicago has signed out of the season, joining defender Andy Dalton, defensive lineman Angelo Blackson and defender Desmond Trufant.
