What should have been a public relations slam-dunk for the publisher Control 505 Games is already getting worse as fans are thinking about why they were encouraged to purchase the final edition if offered daily with Playstation plus next month.
You may remember a great deal of noise when the next generation update was announced, as it was only employed by the owners of the aforementioned Ultimate Edition. After a substantial reaction, a statement was issued explaining that “since we are making an additional development only on Control: Ultimate Edition on the next generation platforms, unfortunately we can not provide an update for all existing control players.”
As you can imagine, this fell as well as an ethically ambiguous scientific project to a shady and secret organization, but some fans began to accept the news. As a result, when the PlayStation 5 version of the game was pushed into 2021, some decided to pick up Ultimate Edition as part of a recent PS store sale in preparation for the release of the PS5 version on February 2.
Of course, that decision failed because the title will be available for free to PS Plus subscribers on both PS5 and PS4 day and date with its next generation digital launch. The 505 Games publisher probably thought this would stop the flow of bad publicity he received for his previous decisions – but he ended up making the most involved and irritated fans.
Some may be able to get a refund from Sony customer service, especially if you haven’t downloaded Control: Ultimate Edition yet. Otherwise, you may just have to put this into bad luck.
