Charlyne Yi says she tried to break her contract and give up filming Disaster artist when he learned of the charges against the co-star and the director James Franco. Instead of listening to her concerns, she says that the producers of the 2017 film tried to bribe her with a bigger acting role.

Yi made these allegations in a Post on Instagram on Friday, involving Seth Rogen, a film producer, in the scheme of bribing herself.

“I cried and I said … I did not feel safe working with a bloody sexual predator,” wrote Yi. “They reduced it to a minimum and said that Franco being a predator was so last [year] and that he changed … when I literally heard about him abusing new women that week. ”

Rogen, Yi said in the accompanying legend, “certainly knows about bribes and why I gave up.”

Most of the accusations against Franco appeared in early 2018, when five women accused him of sexual misconduct for the incidents that took place with him now defunct acting school.

But just before Yi fired Disaster artist with Franco, there have long been whispers about the actor’s history of sexual misconduct, resulting from a 2014 incident in which Franco sent a 17-year-old to ask her to meet him in his hotel room. Franco later admitted to hitting the teenager, telling him to “bad judgment“In a television interview: ‘In my position, not only do I have to go through the embarrassing rituals of meeting someone, but sometimes it’s published for everyone,” Franco said at the time.

A few weeks later, Rogen performed a SNL sketch mocking Franco for what he described as an “embarrassing” mistake, rather than something predatory. “I decided to make James Franco,” Rogen said on the show. “I posed as a girl on Instagram, I told her I was very young. He looked puzzled. I have a date with him at the Ace Hotel. ”

Yi said he chose to share his experience now, because April is Sexual Awareness Month; Subsequent posts on her Instagram feed discuss consent, trauma and enlightenment and take on Rogen because she is a “facilitator” of sexual harassment and abuse.

“Predators will empathize, ignite and say they will do better – all to protect themselves and continue to harm others,” Yi wrote. “Facilitators are just as toxic and abusive.”
