Secretary of Justice Domingo Emanuelli Hernández and Bayamón Interim Prosecutor Lizzette Sánchez Vázquez reported that Judge Aida Meléndez Juarbe of the Bayamón Court of First Instance had established a probable cause of arrest against Kevin Alvarado Matos, 25. years, for sexual assault against a minor, the establishment of a bond of 190,000 USD.
The investigation of the case was led by prosecutor Glorimar García Ríos in coordination with agent Idaliz Rosado from the Sexual Crimes Division in Vega Baja.
The events took place between December 2020 and January 22, 2021 in Toa Alta. The father of the minor is the one who found the defendant, hiding in the family residence.
Alvarado Matos was charged with sexual assault, Article 130 of the Criminal Code.
The defendant did not pay bail and was therefore sent to prison.
The preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 9, 2021.
