Charges filed against the couple accused of killing the Carolina motel employee

Criminal charges for first-degree murder and violation of the Weapons Act were filed today by officers assigned to the Carolina CIC Homicide Division against Juan Miguel Castillo Martínez and Jacqueline Lugo Colón, accused of murder Edmill de León García, employee of the Yess Motel in Carolina.

The events took place last Saturday, but only on Sunday did the authorities manage to find the couple in a neighborhood in Hato Rey.

As reported by Wapa, additional charges will be filed against the couple for attempted murder and controlled substances after they shot officers in the middle of the chase to catch them.

The evidence was presented to Judge Lirio González, of the Carolina court, who settled the case and set an overall guarantee of $ 1,050,000 for each of the defendants, which they did not pay, being admitted to criminal institutions.

Police Commissioner Antonio López Figueroa said on social media that the global connection for the couple is $ 4,650,000.

“Thanks to the cooperation of citizens, the media, MEI police and Justice Department prosecutors,” he wrote.

De León García was 26 years old and was shot in the chest area after arguing with customers, telling them that their time in the room had run out, so he had to extend it or leave the place.

The television press added that a third person is still wanted by the authorities because it seems that he was on the spot.
