Charges are being filed against the suspect in the murder of three young people at the Moisty Skate Park in Caguas

The suspect in the murder of three 19-year-olds on Monday in the vicinity of Moisty Skate Park, Caguas, was charged today, Friday, after failing to pay a millionaire bail for all the murder charges and the Weapons Law that the Caguas prosecutor’s office filed it against him.

The Justice Department reported in a press release that Judge María Rojas Delgado of the Caguas Court of First Instance has established the probable cause of the arrest William David Marcano Hernández, 47 years old, for triple murder, attempted murder and violation of the Weapons Law.

The judge set a $ 2,750,000 bail for Marcano Hernández, who is on the list of most wanted in Caguas jurisdiction by Puerto Rican police.

Marcano Hernández was sent to prison because he did not post bail.

The events date from the night of January 19, 2021, when five young people were in the aforementioned park, which was closed since 2013, when the defendant caught them and shot them with a firearm, causing their death. Two others escaped and were injured during the incident.

Marcano Hernández was charged with three counts of violating Article 93 (Crime); two charges for Article 93 (attempted murder); a fee for violating Article 6.05 (Transport, transport or use of firearms without a license); and five fees for 6.14 (Firearms or Targeting).

However, the accused confessed to committing the acts. Marcano Hernández, who was wanted for a double murder in 2018 and violations of the Law on Weapons, also allegedly confessed to being the perpetrator of that crime that took place in the Bunker urbanization in Caguas. In addition, he said he was the perpetrator of a crime that took place in June 2020, in the Morales neighborhood of that municipality.

The investigation into this Caguas massacre was led by prosecutor Ana María Martínez Orama in coordination with Officer Lizandra Aponte Rodríguez of the Homicide Division of the Caguas Criminal Investigation Corps of the Puerto Rico Police Bureau.

The preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 8, 2021.
