Chancellery Reports 8 Accidental Deaths in Texas; It has not yet been confirmed whether they were Mexican

The Consulate of Mexico in Del Rio, Texas, reported through an informational note that there was one this Monday car accident in Val Verde County, near Del Rio, Texas where eight people died and two others were injured.

The consulate said it was in contact with the local authorities to find out the details of the accident and the nationality of people who lost their lives as well as those who were injured.

He explained that the investigation is in charge of the Texas Department of Public Safety, To identify the fatalities, the bodies were transferred to the coroner’s office in Laredo, Texas.

Likewise, diplomatic headquarters said it was alert to any request for consular assistance or inquiries from people whose family members could be involved in the accident.

10 Mexicans die in California crash

This accident occurs two weeks after a truck carrying about 25 people in California collided with a tractor-trailer, an accident that killed 13 people, including 10 Mexicans.

The states of origin of the deceased are: Oaxaca (three), Michoacán (three), Guerrero, Morelos, Nayarit and Baja California, one each. While 12 people were transported to hospitals for medical care, five of which are Mexican.

The accident occurred around 6:15 a.m. on March 2 at a crossroads outside the farming community of Holtville, which calls itself the root capital of the world.
