César Carozzi, general surgeon and specialist in hyperbaric medicine at the Ricardo Palma Clinic, points out that when the virus enters the body, through various mechanisms it prevents the arrival of oxygen in the cells and generalized hypoxia occurs. Under these conditions, inflammation, pneumonitis and severe respiratory failure are generated.

Dr. Carozzi’s specialty is hyperbaric medicine, which has been shown to be very effective as a post-covid treatment. “When a person enters the hyperbaric chamber and breathes medical oxygen at high pressure, his body will saturate 20 times more oxygen than under normal conditions, reducing inflammation and recovering damaged tissues. This will speed up your healing and recovery process.“The doctor explains.

It should be noted that before undergoing this treatment, the patient should undergo a medical evaluation to determine if it is the most appropriate therapy for the post-COVID-19 rehabilitation process.
