The studio behind the indie darling Celeste, Extremely OK Games in Vancouver, is finally ready to unveil its next game, Earthblade.

While devs admit their blog post is more of a “vibration revelation” than a full announcement, there are many things to enjoy here, in part due to the studio’s pedigree. Earthblade is described as a “2D action game explored in a world of seamless pixel art” with music by the inimitable Lena Raine, who in my humble opinion composed one of the biggest soundtracks of games for Celeste. You can listen to an excerpt from her work Earthblade From lower.

“We had to find four prototypes Earthblade, and now it’s been over three years since then Celestethe initial release, ”wrote Maddy Thorson, director of Extremely OK Games about the development of the future game. “[The] the prototypes taught us a lot, but in the end we ventured far too far from our comfort zone for them to finish realistically. It took some time, but we feel that we have settled on the right compromise between the two Earthblade. ”

Extremely OK Games intends to launch Earthblade sometime from now until the end of the 21st century. Stay tuned for more.
