Celeste Classic receives a free sequel

The incredible (and incredibly introspective) Celeste he arranged our home consoles in 2018, sending us all on a journey of air, strawberry gathering and self-reflection. Now, three years later, the team at Extremely OK games I launched a sequel … anyway.

Before Celeste was Celeste, was Celeste, a simpler game built into the Pico-8 engine and launched in 2016. This version, now known as Celeste Classic, has since been overshadowed by its older sister, but that doesn’t mean developers have forgotten about it.

enter Celeste 2: Lani’s Trek, a continuation of the original Celeste that extremely OK game developer Noel Berry says it was made in just three days.

As the name suggests, this is not a sequel Celeste protagonist Madeline but a new character named Lani. Instead of using magical powers of airflow, Lani’s journey to Heavenly Mountain revolves around a battle hook. Although I’ve only played a few minutes so far, it’s hard in all the same ways they did before Celeste such great games.
