Celeste celebrates its third anniversary with the continuation of the original Pico-8

Strawberry Fields Forever

Everyone’s favorite platform, charming, ethereal, evocative and difficult to control Celeste he is three years old now. How time flies (and Madeline). And to celebrate the birthday of the indie hit, original creators Noel Berry, Maddy Thorson and Lena Raine have released an 8-bit sequel to the title that started it all.

Developed during a Game Jam in the late 2010s, the rudimentary title now known as Celeste Classic inspired the launch of the 2018 mega-sale, which tells the story of a young woman’s battle to overcome the titular mountain together with her own doubts and fears. Made in just three days, Celeste Classic 2: Lani’s Trek he sees a new hero launching his own pixelated adventure, changing Celeste mechanical air-dash for a reliable hook.

We said goodbye to the world Celeste – as well as the memorable cast of its characters – in the 2019 DLC expansion Farewell. But Lani’s Trek we hope to scratch an itch for all C-Side conquerors, at least until we see a new project from the talented team that gave us an instant classic.
