CDC Travel Guide for COVID-19 Fully Vaccinated – CBS Pittsburgh Travel Guide

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The CDC has updated the travel guide for people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

In an updated post on its website, the agency says that fully vaccinated people can travel safely to the United States without a COVID-19 test, as long as they wear a mask and social distance.

This is news that many have been waiting for. A group of families at Pittsburgh International Airport on Friday said they were vaccinated and headed for Florida.

“Relieved, woo,” said Cathy Wetzler of New York.

The CDC said those who are vaccinated can travel to the United States without being tested for COVID-19 or quarantined if they continue to take precautions, including wearing masks and socializing while traveling.

“Let’s do our part, why not? The faster we do this together, the faster we can get past it, ”said Oscar Veneszee of Florida.

He was going to surprise his daughter, who had just finished training camp at Pensacola.

The CDC said fully vaccinated travelers are less likely to receive and spread COVID-19 and can travel at “low risk” for themselves.

“I think it’s great. I’m vaccinated, so I’m ready to start using it and start traveling again,” said Kara Buncic of Canonsburg.

She and her husband were heading to Florida for a spring break. It was 13 difficult months, full of canceled trips, blockages and quarantines.

“We had to cancel at least three vacations and a destination wedding was canceled in 2020 for us,” Buncic said.

“It was very frustrating. It felt like you were caught. But we understand why they did it, to be safe “, said Sutfin.

Travelers are prepared for a smooth landing and some normalcy.

“It’s been over a year since I’ve been able to do anything. So it is very good to know that we can take a trip together and enjoy life again, ”said Wetzler.

The CDC said that fully vaccinated people traveling internationally will not have to be tested for COVID-19 before traveling, unless their destination requires it. They will also not have to be quarantined unless necessary where they live.

Vaccinated travelers must still have a negative COVID-19 test before flying back to the United States

The CDC does not encourage vaccinated people to travel and does not change its travel guidelines for unvaccinated people.
