Carmen Yulín Cruz will offer university seminars in the United States and does not rule out returning to electoral politics in 2024

Outgoing San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz Soto revealed on Tuesday that she is evaluating whether to return to electoral politics by 2024, either as a lawmaker through Accumulation or as a resident commissioner in Washington for the Popular Democratic Party.

“I remain committed to public order, I do not rule out returning to choice policy in Puerto Rico in 2024. If I do, it will be by accumulation or for the resident police station, looking from the Popular party alliances with the Victoria Ciudadana movement and the PIP (Puerto Rican Independence Party) “said the mayor, who was aiming for PPD governor in primaries during this year’s election period.

“In 2024 we must defeat what the state government, the republican represents”he said during a press conference in Luis Muñuz Marín Park in San Juan.

After leaving the mayor’s office in the capital, Yulín Soto indicated that he would write a book and offer two seminars per semester at a university, after accepting the offer from the academic institution, although he did not mention the name . “I’ve already accepted an offer at a prestigious university in the United States, in Massachusetts, for two important things, one is to write a book,” he said.

“The defense I made of Puerto Rico in the United States, in the United States is recognized, they recognized it for what it was, a defense about what Donald Trump didn’t do about Puerto Rico and how that caused death”, he claimed.

He also indicated that he has been offered offers from several nonprofits promoting human rights, immigrant rights and education to serve on boards of directors.

Likewise, the mayor is negotiating to act as a link “between some sectors of Puerto Rico and the US Congress. That should be specified between this week and next week.”
