Members of the United States Capitol Police issued an expected vote of no confidence in top leaders on Friday during the January 6 riot. CNN reported
The newscast reported that the seven leaders of the force – including acting chief Yoganada Pittman, two assistant chiefs, three deputy chiefs and a captain of the division that staffed the Capitol – were each given a vote of no confidence, according to sources who shared the votes with CNN.
“It’s been a little over a month since one of our country’s darkest days, and the trauma is still incredibly raw and difficult for the many officers who fought heroically on the 6th,” Pittman said in a statement, according to CNN. on January 8, my executive team and I made the well-being of our officers our top priority.
“While progress has been made, more work remains,” added Pittman. “And I am committed to ensuring that every officer gets what he needs and deserves.”

Voting began Thursday afternoon and lasted 24 hours, the news service reported. Voting was limited to members represented by the United States Capitol Police Labor Committee.
The vote comes a month after the January 6 riot that led to the death of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, and in which dozens of other officers were injured.
