The Chapter’s debt for services that have not been paid in the last four years is millionaire. The Aqueduct and Sewerage Authority (AAA) alone owes $ 829,412.90 to the water service.
This was revealed on Thursday by the President of the House of Representatives, Rafael “Tatito” Hernández Montañez, who also stressed that the debt to be paid to the Electricity Authority (PREPA) is $ 2,897,492.20.
Hernández Montañez said that since he did not have the budget to pay off all the debt, he asked AAA and PREPA to establish a regular payment plan starting in July that would include the payment of the debt and thus not be left without both services from cause a reduction.
“Our concern was negative news that we started working in the Legislative Assembly and they cut off water and electricity. This was not acceptable, “he added.
He explained that “the Electricity Authority has notified us that no payments have been issued in the last four years,” he said.
