Capcom Unveils First Screenshot of Oro in Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition Season 5

Earlier this morning, Capcom unveiled the first screenshot for Oro in Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition Season 5. Oro is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2021, after Rose, which will be released in the spring of 2021.

In the screenshot, Oro’s mustard yellow complexion is clearly visible on the wrinkled forehead. His eyes also glow red. If we didn’t already know who Oro was, we would probably be led to believe that Oro is a red-eyed villain.

Oro is expected to wear a kind of theme that makes him balance a turtle with one hand. In Street Fighter 3, Oro was known for fighting with a hand tied as a way to hold you back. Instead, he will hold and balance a turtle in Street Fighter 5.

Of course, we’ve already seen how Oro will briefly cause the turtle to levitate when it activates Tengu Stone. Based on the sound effects that were played during the Oro storm that played out towards the end of the Winter Update stream, we believe that Tengu Stone is one of Oro’s V-Triggers.

In particular, the turtle in question can be seen hovering over Oro’s head in Capcom’s new screenshot. Of course, all we can see about the turtle is its legs. Since Oro is supposed to hold the turtle during the game, it looks like it could be the animation of Oro’s introduction to Street Fighter 5.

Unfortunately, the screenshot is interrupted at Oro’s mouth. However, it clarifies that Oro has a gargantuan nose and extremely large ears. This makes sense given that he is a 140-year-old hermit and how the ears and nose are the only parts of the human body that never stop growing.

More information about Oro (and Rose) is expected to be released during the Spring Update stream, which is set to air tomorrow, April 6th. As always, we will provide coverage as the news drops tomorrow.
