Capcom Resident Evil 4 is rebuilding in a new direction

The role of M-Two “significantly reduced”

A new report suggests that Capcom’s unannounced remake Resident Evil 4 is currently being restructured. While it was previously reported that the Japanese studio M-Two was leading the project, new development whispers claim that Capcom is behind the wheel after alleged misunderstandings about the direction of the project.

The report, obtained by VGC, suggests that M-Two has expressed a desire to remain relatively faithful to the remake of the 2005 horror classic, worried about the reaction to the 2020 changes. Resident Evil 3. Capcom would assume that otherwise, it wants to take a risk, pointing to the famous adventure of Leon and Ashley in a new direction.

As a result, it is rumored that the role of M-Two in development Resident Evil 4 is now “significantly reduced”, which Capcom would have brought to its Division 1 team, (from Devil May Cry V fame) to perform most of the design and development of the remake. This restructuring of the team is expected to cause a significant delay Resident Evil 4, with sources suggesting it will not see the light of day before 2023.

Of course, there is a funny note in that Resident Evil 4 the remake does not exist from a technical point of view – given that Capcom has not officially announced the title. But given the commercial success of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, as well as the legendary specific status of the series’ fourth main entry in the horror survival franchise, such a remake is as inevitable as a belly-to-belly suplex for a Los Ganados farmer.
