The Canadian national team has summoned Marcelo Flores, the jewel of the Arsenal, for a camp in January with youth players who can be part of their process to the Tokyo Olympics.
Marcelo He was born in Canada 17 years ago to a Mexican father and an English mother, so he can choose between these three nationalities.
Flores He already wore the Tricolor jersey in lower categories, but he can still represent the other countries, because he did not play an official match.
“As a step towards the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the January camp offers our national men’s team the opportunity to reintroduce the group both tactically and culturally to the competitive matches in March,” said John Herdman, Canada’s coach.
“As this is the first time we will be on the field with a few players in more than a year, it will be important to focus on performance as we move towards the FIFA 2022 FIFA World Cup.”
Flores stood out in Arsenal’s training sessions, despite his young age, and aims to debut with the Gunners soon.
