Can I go to a vaccination center in another county to get coronavirus vaccination?

HOUSTON – KPRC 2 has received a large number of emails, comments on social media and phone calls about the confusion surrounding the new vaccine distribution hub system, and a question arises: Can I make an appointment to visit a hub that is not located in the same county where I live?

The short answer is yes.

Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, said Monday that there are no geographical restrictions on the centers that Texas residents can visit. Therefore, the inhabitants of Galveston County, Montgomery County, Fort Bend County, etc. they can make appointments at any of the three hubs operating in Harris County.

The most likely problem people will encounter is actually scheduling a meeting.

“It took 3 hours,” said Mac McClendon, said Tuesday the director of the Harris County Public Health Public Health Preparedness Bureau. “I opened it and the 8,000 vaccines disappeared so quickly.”

McClendon said he was unsure, but hoped Harris County public health would be able to provide another 8,000-dose shipment to be delivered next week. He said he is forced to wait for words from Austin because the state controls the distribution of the vaccine.
