The titular magistrate of the special prosecutor for the prosecution of administrative corruption (Pepca), Wilson Camacho, said he was unaware of an alleged agreement the former prosecution authorities had made with the defendant Ángel Rondón.
Camacho has said “on several occasions” that he is unaware of the agreement, calling the proposal “a perversion”.
“In any part of the world, if the prosecution were to make such a proposal, if it were to do it that way, it would be an act of perversion,” Camacho said.
In addition, he said the Public Prosecution Service team responsible for the Odebrecht case was split in two at the time.
“This agreement is unknown to me and I have said it on several occasions, the Odebrecht team was divided into two teams: one for litigation and one for investigation, and it was a decision of the prosecution authorities at the time. I have been placed in the process field, for that reason we do not know whether that proposal was made or not ”.
Ángel Rondón, one of the main defendants in the Odebrecht case, stated that the former Attorney General, Jean Alain Rodríguez, asked him to involve President Luis Abinader in the corruption case, and to include ‘two or three people’ of the modern age. to accuse. Revolutionary Party (PRM).
