Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3 Event Nukes the Verdansk Map

Verdansk was disappointed, destroyed in Call of Duty: Warzone, although we will not know what the consequences will be for a while. The Warzone Part 1 Destruction of Verdansk event set the scene for Season 3 Warzone in an appropriately zombied way.

At noon, Pacific Time, players managed to join a new time-limited mode, which was based on last week or so of Warzone’s in-game narrative. People fit in like a normal Warzone game, but an extremely quiet orchestral track and a map full of radiation zones (moving!) Quickly told us that this would be another type of match.

In all respects, the destruction of Verdansk part 1 was played as a large-scale game in infected mode. Players who bit the dust early were automatically converted into the higher-powered zombies we saw introduced last week, able to jump incredible distances, throw gas grenades and deactivate electronics with an EMP explosion.

Around the map, various juggernaut loading kits began to fall, providing a brief safety from the fast-growing horde of zombies. All the while, a tense radio sound was played over the chaos, with unidentified soldiers begging the commanders for an extraction.

It all culminated in a skin scene showing a nuclear missile coming out of an underground base, circulating in the air and detonating near the stadium’s location.

Unfortunately, that’s all we’re getting at the moment. Judging by this document from the universe, players have until 14:00 PT to play Verdansk Destruction Part 1. Part 2 will apparently start at some point after the mandatory update starting at 21:00 PT. The Activision document implies that the game will be online again until midnight, exactly when Pacific Timers enters on April 22nd. Once Warzone is up and running again, wait to see any changes to the map and game Call of Duty has in hand then.

The expected size of the update file from season 3 is 25 GB relatively merciful. Three new operators are planned to be launched throughout the season and a special version of Captain Cold Warfare’s Cold War will also be available. You can read the full details of season 3 (which we know so far) here.
