The man arrested yesterday, Wednesday, who was listed as the number one most wanted in the Caguas region, confessed to killing three 19-year-olds last Monday, in the vicinity of Moisty Skate Park, in that municipality, he reported to The new day Inspector Ricardo De Jesús, director of the Caguas Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC).
The suspect, 47-year-old William David Marcano, who was wanted for a double murder in 2018 and violations of the Arms Law, also testified that he is the perpetrator of that crime that took place in the Bunker urbanization in Caguas. . In addition, he said he was the perpetrator of a crime that took place in June 2020, in the Morales neighborhood of that municipality.
“The person who was arrested yesterday confessed that he was the one who killed the three young men. A confrontation round took place in which one of the witnesses identified him as the person who committed the events. The prosecutor’s office is already preparing the entire case for tomorrow morning to file the appropriate charges, “said De Jesús, who added that Marcano confessed to the facts at the time of his arrest.
De Jesús pointed out that, in total, he confessed to being the perpetrator of six crimes, including the three young men.
“We have already completed the investigation. The case has been clarified, we are waiting for the completion of the file which is practically completely completed. Some details would be missing to be submitted in the morning, “he added.
The victims of the triple murder have been identified as Alexis Y. Vélez Torres, Nilson D. Pérez Altagracia and Frankie J. Coss Báez, the inhabitants of Caguas. At an early stage of the investigation, Sergeant David Correa reported that the man lived in the facilities of the old water park and that when he saw five young people passing through the area “without saying a word”, he killed three.
At that time, it was ruled out that the crime was related to drugs or a certain type of smuggling. The other two young men on the spot, aged between 19 and 20, were injured during the incident.
On the other hand, De Jesús indicated that, in connection with the double murder in 2018, the case had already been filed, so now it will move to the preliminary hearing stage. For this case, against Marcano weighed $ 2.2 million bail.
Regarding the June 2020 crime, he said that “there are some details that the prosecutor must obtain, such as evidence and reports from the Forensic Sciences to submit them later, but it will also be filed and clarified.”
